Design to Value Engineer – Projects

About the role

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Design to Value Engineer to join the Hub Engineering team in Guarulhos. The role focuses on applying Design to Value methodology to generate cost savings and increase value for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Drive profitability of current product offerings by applying DtV methodology.
• Perform reverse engineering and benchmarking activities as part of DtV deployment.
• Generate cost‑out ideas individually or in cross‑functional workshops and Kaizen events.
• Develop tools and design concepts that reduce design, manufacturing and assembly time while improving quality and material usage.
• Create detailed business cases and implementation plans for project approval.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, preferably Electrical.
• Proven track record of delivering cost‑out projects and savings.
• Experience in design and manufacturing of power or distribution transformers.
• Experience with 3D CAD software, especially Pro‑Engineer or CREO Parametric.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification and experience with Lean manufacturing.
• Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) methodology.
• Strong command of English for communication in an international environment.
