Director, Brazil Compliance Officer & MLRO

About the role

Circle is seeking a senior leader to head its compliance function in Brazil. The role combines strategic risk management with day‑to‑day regulatory oversight, acting as the primary liaison with Brazilian authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the compliance strategy for Brazil, ensuring alignment with local laws and Circle’s risk appetite.
• Serve as the main point of contact with Brazilian regulators and represent Circle in all regulatory engagements.
• Collaborate with Finance, Tax, Legal, Product, Operations and other teams to design and implement policies on licensing, KYC, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, reporting, consumer protection and risk governance.
• Build and maintain a robust compliance program that meets Brazilian regulatory requirements and internal risk standards.
• Monitor regulatory developments and adapt the compliance framework accordingly.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in regulatory compliance, risk management and anti‑money‑laundering (AML) within the financial services or fintech sector.
• Proven ability to design processes, manage cross‑functional projects and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in data‑driven decision making.
• Excellent change‑management and presentation skills.
