Director of Communications & Public Affairs – Brazil

About the role

The Director of Communications & Public Affairs for Brazil will lead the development and execution of integrated communications and public affairs strategies that strengthen Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine’s reputation, trust, and license to operate in Brazil. Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications & Public Affairs, Latin America, the role serves as a strategic advisor to the Brazil Managing Director and senior leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the country‑wide communications and public affairs strategy and narrative, translating business priorities into measurable plans.
• Guide disciplined, compliant execution across public affairs, stakeholder engagement, external communications, media relations, internal communications, employee engagement, and digital channels.
• Ensure alignment with Latin America and global frameworks while reflecting Brazil’s policy, access, regulatory, and cultural context.
• Partner closely with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal/Compliance, HR, and other cross‑functional leaders to anticipate risk, align stakeholders, and advance enterprise and business priorities.
• Collaborate with regional and global communications/public affairs teams and external agencies to share insights and best practices across markets.

Required profile

• Senior professional with proven experience leading communications and public affairs initiatives, preferably within the healthcare or pharmaceutical sector.
• Demonstrated ability to act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and to influence cross‑functional teams.
• Strong stakeholder‑mapping and engagement capabilities with policymakers, health authorities, industry associations, payers, patient groups, and other external partners.
