E-commerce Litigation Counsel – Brazil

About the role

This position reports to the Litigation Counsel Lead, Brazil, and is responsible for managing high‑volume consumer and e‑commerce litigation arising from TikTok Shop marketplace activities. The role acts as a strategic legal partner, providing risk‑based advice in a fast‑paced digital commerce environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage mass consumer and e‑commerce litigation, including judicial cases and PROCON procedures, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and platform policies.
• Provide practical, risk‑based legal advice to business units on marketplace and e‑commerce matters.
• Identify and mitigate potential litigation and regulatory risks within the digital commerce ecosystem.
• Handle general litigation matters such as pre‑litigation claims and consumer disputes.
• Oversee the full litigation lifecycle: fact‑finding, legal analysis, strategy development, case management, motion practice, and preparation for arbitration or trial.
• Supervise and collaborate with outside counsel to ensure high‑quality representation, including strategy, written work, and oral advocacy.
• Align with the company’s global litigation and regulatory strategy.

Required profile

• Admission to practice law in Brazil.
• Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience with a strong focus on litigation in Brazil.
• Proven experience managing high‑volume (mass) consumer litigation in digital platform environments.
• Hands‑on experience in marketplace or e‑commerce, especially consumer law and regulatory matters.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work across all organizational levels.
• High proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Preferred: In‑house experience in technology, digital media, e‑commerce, or advertising; experience in matrixed global organizations; ability to handle cross‑functional initiatives; experience with litigation across Latin America.
