Elementary Head Teacher – Curitiba

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Elementary Head Teacher to lead our early‑years classroom in Curitiba. You will join a bilingual international school network that combines Brazilian culture with global pedagogical practices, aiming to nurture lifelong learners with an international mindset.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess elementary lessons in line with RED HOUSE’s pedagogical plan, adapting to each child’s needs.
• Monitor student progress, collect evidence, and design interventions to improve performance.
• Collaborate with the coordination team to develop strategies that increase engagement and support students with learning difficulties.
• Supervise the Teaching Assistant, ensuring activities are adapted for special educational needs.
• Maintain a safe classroom environment, supervise entry and exit procedures, and respond promptly to any health or safety concerns.
• Communicate observations and student performance to the coordinator and keep families informed.
• Prepare and display weekly lesson plans according to the coordinator’s schedule.
• Follow RED HOUSE’s language policy, assessment policy, and teachers’ handbook, ensuring compliance by the Teaching Assistant as well.

Required profile

• Passion for education and commitment to fostering a peaceful, inclusive learning community.
• Strong understanding of bilingual and international curricula.
• Ability to analyse student data and tailor instruction accordingly.
• Experience supervising support staff and coordinating with school leadership.
• Vigilance regarding student safety and wellbeing.
• Effective communication skills for reporting to coordinators and families.
