About the role

This position is for a Junior Java Software Engineer based in Brazil, working in a high‑performance fintech environment. You will join an agile team that builds scalable, high‑availability backend systems that power critical financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java‑based backend solutions for high‑traffic, high‑availability applications.
• Design, build, and sustain APIs and system integrations across distributed environments.
• Work with relational databases, write and optimise SQL queries, and support data modelling.
• Implement messaging‑based integrations and contribute to scalable system architecture.
• Write and maintain automated tests to ensure quality, reliability, and performance.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and collaborative engineering practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
• Experience with backend development using Java.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL query development.
• Knowledge of API design, development, and documentation.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows.
• Experience with messaging systems and automated testing practices.
• Understanding of distributed systems and scalable architectures.
• Willingness to learn, collaborate, and grow in a fast‑paced environment.
