About the role

We are looking for an IT Automation Specialist to join ACCIONA’s water sanitation project in Recife, Brazil. The role focuses on developing, maintaining and evolving automation and operational data solutions, ensuring high availability, reliability and security of plant control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and evolve Plant SCADA and AVEVA System Platform environments, adhering to automation and operational standards.
• Support and continuously improve the PI System/AVEVA PI, handling data collection, quality, availability and integration.
• Translate operational demands into technical requirements and drive autonomous solutions while managing priorities, risks and impacts.
• Define and apply naming conventions, screens, alarms, histories, tags, integrations and technical documentation for SCADA and historian platforms.
• Facilitate integrations between automation, telemetry, IoT, databases, APIs, middleware and corporate systems, ensuring traceability and consistency.
• Diagnose and resolve failures, communication losses and data inconsistencies in critical operational environments.
• Prepare technical specifications, support vendor selection, evaluate proposals and validate technical deliveries.
• Implement preventive security, continuity and reliability measures for OT/IT environments, following best practices for segregation, access control, backup and restoration.

Required profile

• Completed higher education in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Automation, IT or related fields.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of industrial automation and SCADA supervisory systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Plant SCADA, AVEVA System Platform and PI System (AVEVA PI).
• Proficiency in data historian management, tag configuration, alarm handling and screen design.
• Experience integrating automation with IoT, APIs, middleware and corporate IT systems.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve communication and data integrity issues in OT environments.
• Understanding of OT/IT security, access control, backup and restoration procedures.
