Financial Controller – Specialist Level (Internal Controls)

About the role

This newly created position will be the first dedicated internal‑controls professional for the local operation of a major Japanese multinational in technology and manufacturing. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will act as the technical reference for internal controls, financial compliance and audit activities.

Key responsibilities

• Map, document and review critical operational and financial processes.
• Identify gaps, recommend improvements and manage corporate approval workflows (Ringi system).
• Monitor revenue and expense cycles, accounts payable/receivable, treasury and fixed‑asset management.
• Ensure compliance with CPC/IFRS, Brazilian tax regulations (IRPJ, CSLL, PIS/COFINS, ICMS, ISS) and the COSO framework.
• Analyse financial statements to detect anomalies or fraud risks.
• Serve as the focal point for internal (headquarters) and external audits.
• Maintain and update the company’s risk matrix and track audit‑related action plans.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or Finance (active CRC a plus).
• Experience in internal control, internal/external audit or financial management.
• Advanced English for reporting and communication with headquarters.
• Strong analytical mindset, systemic vision and hands‑on approach.
• Knowledge of CPC/IFRS, Brazilian tax legislation and the COSO framework.
• Familiarity with LGPD is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems – SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced use of Power BI and Excel for analysis and reporting.
• Advanced English communication skills.
