Founding Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Energy Intelligence Startup

About the role

We are seeking a founding Chief Executive Officer to lead Cortex, a Houston‑based energy intelligence venture that is redefining regulatory compliance for the energy sector. The CEO will act as a business partner, shaping strategy, building the team, and securing equity‑based participation as the company launches.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall vision and go‑to‑market strategy for Cortex’s regulatory intelligence platform.
• Lead fundraising efforts, attract capital partners, and negotiate strategic alliances.
• Build and manage an early‑stage executive team and oversee product development, sales, and operations.
• Engage with enterprise customers, industry stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to validate product fit and drive adoption.
• Represent the company to investors, partners, and the broader energy community.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in oil & gas, energy infrastructure, or related industrial markets.
• Proven executive leadership and a track record of building high‑growth companies.
• Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and credibility with enterprise customers.
• Demonstrated ability to raise capital and forge partnerships.
• Entrepreneurial mindset suited for an early‑stage, equity‑driven venture.
