Head of Brazil Plan Approval Centre

About the role

RINA is seeking a senior leader to head its Brazil Plan Approval Centre within the Latin America Marine Division. Based in Rio de Janeiro, you will drive the approval of ship designs and new‑building surveys, ensuring full compliance with international and flag‑state regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all drawing‑approval and new‑building survey activities across Brazil.
• Guarantee technical compliance with Class Rules, statutory regulations, and flag‑state requirements.
• Achieve commercial targets such as revenue growth, margin improvement, and efficient resource utilization.
• Provide high‑level maritime technical advice and act as the subject‑matter expert for clients and internal teams.
• Develop and mentor the plan‑approval team, fostering continuous learning and high engagement.
• Maintain strong relationships with shipyards, designers, flag authorities, and international clients to ensure top‑level customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in marine plan approval, ship design review, or related maritime survey functions.
• Proven track record in managing teams and delivering commercial results.
• Strong understanding of international maritime regulations and flag‑state requirements.
• Ability to lead continuous‑improvement initiatives and drive operational excellence.
