Head of Operations – Brazil

About the role

Rivaz Resources is expanding its portfolio of critical minerals projects across Brazil. We are seeking a Head of Operations to lead the transformation of exploration successes into world‑class mining operations, reporting directly to the CEO – Brazil.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all Brazilian operational activities from project development through construction, commissioning, and mining.
• Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
• Oversee reserve definition, feasibility studies, permitting, mine development, processing, and refining.
• Manage operational budgets, forecasts, capital expenditures and commercial performance.
• Build, mentor and lead multidisciplinary operational teams.
• Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement and productivity initiatives.
• Lead technical and commercial due diligence for acquisitions, partnerships and new projects.
• Build strong relationships with government agencies, regulators, landowners, communities, investors and partners.
• Ensure compliance with Brazilian mining legislation, environmental approvals and company governance.
• Promote a strong Health, Safety, Environment & Community culture across all operations.

Required profile

• Fluency in English and Portuguese.
• 15–20+ years of leadership experience in mining, project development or natural resources.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior operational leadership role (e.g., Operations Manager, General Manager, Country Manager, Head of Operations).
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams across exploration, development, construction and mining.
• Demonstrated success managing large operational and capital budgets.
• Strong commercial acumen in strategic planning, project evaluation and business development.
• Deep knowledge of Brazilian mining regulations, environmental compliance, permitting and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to manage relationships with government, regulators, communities and investors.
