Industrial Robotics Engineer – Remote (Rio de Janeiro)

About the role

Rex.zone is seeking an Industrial Robotics Engineer to design, program, and commission end‑to‑end robotic automation solutions for manufacturing environments. This remote‑first, full‑time position supports travel for on‑site commissioning and production support as project needs arise.

Key responsibilities

• Design and integrate robotic workcells, including tooling, fixtures, sensors, guarding, and safety devices.
• Program industrial robots such as FANUC, ABB, KUKA, and Yaskawa, optimizing motion for cycle‑time and repeatability.
• Develop and integrate PLC logic, HMI interfaces, safety interlocks, and coordinated automation sequences.
• Implement machine‑vision guidance and inspection workflows, calibrating hand‑eye systems.
• Commission systems (FAT/SAT), perform I/O checkout, safety validation, and run‑at‑rate testing.
• Troubleshoot production issues using structured methods like fault trees and 5‑Whys to improve uptime and OEE.
• Create and maintain documentation including I/O lists, backups, SOPs, FAT/SAT reports, and validation records.

Required profile

• Mid‑senior experience delivering industrial robotics or automation projects in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong robot programming and integration skills, including frame definition, TCP, payload handling, recovery, and diagnostics.
• Hands‑on PLC and safety integration experience with industrial communication networks.
• Familiarity with machine‑vision system selection, calibration, and inspection logic.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
