Intermediate Data Engineer

About the role

Join AB InBev's BEES platform as an Intermediate Data Engineer, focusing on FinOps and data initiatives that drive cost efficiency across the company’s most strategic KPIs. You will work with cross‑functional teams to translate financial data into actionable insights that improve business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Own high‑visibility FinOps and data projects tied to strategic KPIs.
• Lead optimization programs for Databricks workloads, pipelines, clusters, and storage.
• Build executive‑ready dashboards and narratives that link cost and performance to business impact.
• Monitor real‑time spend, detect anomalies early, and coordinate rapid cross‑team responses.
• Define and enforce FinOps governance, standards, and accountability across domains.
• Partner with engineering and platform teams to embed cost‑efficient architecture decisions from day one.
• Drive showback/chargeback transparency and enhance unit‑economics visibility.
• Influence budget planning and forecasting with data‑driven insights.
• Translate technical findings into clear recommendations for product, finance, and leadership stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Data, Finance, Product, Cloud, and Ops to accelerate measurable outcomes.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Strong SQL skills for cost, usage, and performance analysis.
• Proficiency in Python for analytics, automation, and data workflows.
• Hands‑on experience with FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
• Experience working with Databricks and modern data platform environments.
• Familiarity with BI tools.
• Knowledge of Azure cost drivers (AWS or GCP a plus).
• Ability to prioritize initiatives based on ROI and business impact.
• Advanced English communication skills for global written and verbal interactions.
