Junior Mobile UI & Design Systems Designer for News Media

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Junior Mobile UI & Design Systems Designer to join the product design team of a leading global media and news organization. You will work closely with senior designers and mobile developers to turn established design strategies into implementation‑ready mobile interfaces for iOS and Android.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal designers to translate brand guidelines into mobile UI solutions.
• Create and update mobile app screens for iOS and Android, ensuring visual consistency.
• Maintain and organize Figma files, components, variants, libraries, and design tokens.
• Apply the existing design system across screens and user flows, documenting component states, spacing, typography, and interactions.
• Prepare clean, well‑named Figma files for developer handoff and resolve implementation questions.
• Review designs for visual accuracy and support ongoing improvements to the mobile design system.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in UI/UX or product design with a focus on mobile applications.
• Strong attention to detail, visual consistency, and ability to keep design files clean and structured.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with developers and other designers.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, components, variants, and component libraries.
• Experience with design systems and design tokens.
• Familiarity with Apple Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and Google Material Design.
• Basic understanding of mobile development frameworks such as React Native, Swift, or Kotlin.
