Junior Procurement and Transportation Analyst

About the role

Alcoa is seeking a Junior Procurement and Transportation Analyst to support commercial activities for transportation and logistics services across South America. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and aligning logistics operations with business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing and procurement processes for logistics services up to $5M, including scope definition, supplier selection, tender management and negotiations.
• Manage relationships with carriers, port operators and logistics partners, ensuring performance and continuous improvement.
• Monitor supplier performance through KPIs, conduct reviews and implement corrective actions.
• Drive cost competitiveness via negotiations, total cost of ownership analysis, benchmarking and alternative logistics solutions.
• Support logistics strategy decisions by evaluating transportation models, risks and efficiency opportunities.
• Ensure contract governance and compliance with global procurement guidelines.
• Partner with internal stakeholders (plants, operations, planning and global teams) to align logistics strategies with business priorities.
• Contribute to strategic projects such as multimodal connections, track & trace and delivery performance initiatives.

Required profile

• Ongoing or completed bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or a related field.
• Junior‑level experience or academic background relevant to procurement, logistics or supply chain.
