Junior Simulation Engineer

About the role

GA Drilling is seeking a Junior Simulation Engineer to support the development of next‑generation geothermal drilling technologies. Based in Rio de Janeiro, you will work alongside senior engineers to build, run, and refine models that describe mechanical, hydraulic, thermal, and downhole systems.

Key responsibilities

• Construct and update simulation models using MATLAB, Simulink and Simscape for multi‑physics systems.
• Perform finite‑element and fluid‑dynamics analyses with Ansys or OpenFOAM.
• Develop scripts and small tools to automate simulation workflows, process data and visualise results.
• Translate engineering drawings, schematics and requirements into model inputs and assumptions.
• Document assumptions, report findings in technical reports and communicate blockers early.
• Collaborate with mechanical design, testing and product development teams while following HSE and quality procedures.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent practical experience in mechanical, mechatronics, aerospace, electrical engineering, computer science or a related field.
• Academic, internship or project experience with simulation, numerical methods or physics‑based modelling.
• Basic understanding of mechanics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and system modelling.
• Ability to read technical documentation and schematics.
• Fluent communication in Portuguese and English.
