Local Consultant – Labour Mobility & Climate Change

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a local consultant to support the “Empowering climate resilience through Labour Migration” project. The consultant will conduct research, mapping and policy analysis in Brazil and other pilot countries to integrate labour mobility considerations into climate change strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop an assessment mapping of labour mobility and climate change projects and programmes.
• Conduct a comprehensive policy review and analysis to identify gaps and legislative issues.
• Prepare a summary report combining findings and providing concrete recommendations for policy integration.
• Collaborate with IOM teams and partners in the five pilot countries.
• Ensure deliverables meet the project’s timeline and quality standards.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in migration studies, environmental policy, international development or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in policy research, labour mobility or climate change projects.
• Strong analytical and report‑writing skills.
• Fluency in English; Portuguese proficiency preferred.
