Mechanical Design Engineer – 3D CAD Specialist

About the role

Alstom is looking for a full‑time Mechanical CAD Designer to join its team in Taubaté. You will apply your expertise in 3D design, digital mock‑ups and domain‑specific engineering to support the development of rail transport solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform 3D design, annotations and produce 2D deliverables while respecting QCD commitments and Metier processes.
• Model and store allocated volumes and interfaces for subsystems/components in the Digital Mock‑Up.
• Verify the consistency of the digital mock‑up against requirements such as volume, weight and interfaces.
• Prepare and document Domain Design Reviews and follow up on open actions.
• Check the quality of CAD models and subcontractor designs.
• Conduct stack‑up analysis and generate Bills of Material.
• Plan and pilot Mechanical/Electrical domain activities for assigned zones.
• Resolve project issues and ensure deliverables align with project specifications.
• Support sourcing, industrialisation and manufacturing teams during production ramp‑up.
• Collaborate with the MDL team to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical (junior profiles welcome).
• Good knowledge of GD&T (ISO/ASME) and stack‑up calculations.
• Experience with 3D modelling and drawing creation in an industrial context.
• Proficiency in CATIA or equivalent CAD software.
• Familiarity with 3D management and strong depth perception.
• Fluency in English.
• Rigorous, detail‑oriented and strong problem‑solving abilities.
