Mechanical Design Engineer – 3D Modeling & Digital Mock‑Up

About the role

Alstom is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to create and manage 3D models, digital mock‑ups and design reviews for rail transport projects. You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure quality, cost and delivery commitments are met.

Key responsibilities

• Perform 3D design, annotations and produce 2D deliverables in line with QCD commitments and Alstom processes.
• Model and store allocated volumes and interfaces for subsystems/components in the Digital Mock‑Up.
• Verify consistency of the digital mock‑up against requirements such as volumes, weight and interfaces.
• Prepare and document Domain Design Reviews and follow up on open actions.
• Check CAD quality and subcontractor designs, conduct stack‑up analysis and generate Bills of Material.
• Plan and pilot Electrical/Mechanical domain activities for assigned zones.
• Support sourcing, industrialisation and manufacturing teams during production ramp‑up.
• Collaborate with the MDL team on continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Engineering degree, preferably Mechanical; junior profiles are welcome.
• Good knowledge of GD&T (ISO/ASME) and stack‑up calculations.
• Experience with 3D modelling and drawing creation in an industrial context.
• Fluency in English.
• Rigorous, detail‑oriented and strong problem‑solving skills.
