Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Hardware team at TRACTIAN in São Paulo. You will turn product concepts into robust mechanical designs, creating precise 3D models and detailed drawings that guide manufacturing and assembly of our IoT devices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools (SolidWorks, NX, CATIA or similar) ensuring manufacturability.
• Apply GD&T and tolerance stack‑up analysis to control critical dimensions.
• Translate engineering requirements into clear technical documentation for suppliers.
• Review designs for compliance with standards, tolerances and best practices.
• Collaborate with product engineers, analysts, firmware, quality and manufacturing teams to resolve design challenges.
• Maintain CAD libraries, templates and drawing standards.
• Support prototype builds and update designs based on test results.
• Prepare technical packages for suppliers and align them with production capabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality standards.
• Proactive, self‑directed learner who drives issues to closure.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Willingness to live in or relocate to São Paulo.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, CATIA or equivalent).
• Hands‑on experience with GD&T and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding and casting.
• Ability to create detailed technical drawings and documentation for suppliers.
• Familiarity with Blender (optional) and PLM systems (optional).
