Mechanical Designer – Full‑time (Taubaté)

About the role

Alstom is looking for a full‑time Mechanical Designer to join its team in Taubaté. You will apply your mechanical engineering expertise to support the design and delivery of rail transport projects, collaborating with suppliers, production sites and internal engineering stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Perform space allocation based on MLE inputs for tenders and create/maintain Space Allocation Mock‑ups (SAM) following maturity rules.
• Develop 3D detailed designs of design‑make parts, ensuring compliance with allocated volumes, interfaces, manufacturability and maintainability constraints.
• Produce 2D or annotated 3D detailed drawings in line with internal data structuration standards.
• Support technical discussions with suppliers to converge on technical definitions.
• Generate Engineering Change Requests and verify activities delegated to the Shared Engineering Center.
• Provide weight data to the Weight Discipline Engineer and contribute to stack‑up calculations for production sites or supplier premises.

Required profile

• Graduated from a Mechanical technical school.
• 2–3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in heavy industry.
• Proficiency in English for reading, writing and technical discussions.
• Rigorous approach with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to interface effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• CATIA V5 (or similar 3D CAD tool).
• PLM software experience, e.g., Enovia.
• 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.
• Space allocation and SAM management.
• Weight data analysis and stack‑up calculations.
