Mooring Systems Engineer – Rio de Janeiro

About the role

InterMoor, part of Acteon's Moorings and Anchors business line, is seeking a Mooring Systems Engineer to join its Rio de Janeiro team. The role focuses on the design and analysis of shallow‑ and deep‑water mooring and anchoring systems for a variety of offshore vessels and platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and analyse anchoring systems for steel catenary and synthetic taut‑leg mooring configurations used on AHTS vessels, barges, drilling rigs and permanent production facilities.
• Perform structural design of installation aids such as A‑frames and launching systems for mooring and subsea equipment.
• Develop and optimise deep‑water catenary and taut‑leg mooring systems (steel and synthetic) for drilling rigs and production units.
• Create installation procedures for mooring systems and subsea equipment using anchor handling or dive‑support vessels.
• Provide offshore support during installation activities and produce executive project reports.
• Maintain material inventory records and participate in HSE programmes.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Production, Naval, Civil, Metallurgical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mooring design and offshore mooring operations.
• Fluent English (spoken, written and reading).
• Ability to work on‑site in the Rio de Janeiro area.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with mooring analysis software (e.g., OrcaFlex).
