Offshore Electrical Technician

About the role

We are seeking Offshore Electrical Technicians to join our global team, based in Brazil. The role involves ensuring the safe operation, maintenance and repair of MDL Flex‑lay assets while offshore, working on a variety of electrical equipment and control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform offshore operations with MDL flex‑lay assets to deliver client missions safely and efficiently.
• Conduct routine electrical system inspections on offshore rental assets to detect defects or maintenance needs.
• Assist mechanics with mechanical system inspections when required.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Carry out maintenance and repair of wiring, switches, circuit breakers, control panels, lighting systems and related components.
• Calibrate electrical equipment and instruments to ensure accurate readings.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimise failures.
• Replace faulty components such as fuses, relays, contactors, motors and sensors.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs and generate reports for on‑shore management.
• Provide leadership on‑site, acting as focal point for client requirements and standing in for the team lead when needed.

Required profile

• Brazilian national, based in Brazil, able to work offshore on client vessels worldwide.
• Experience with electrical equipment and control systems used in flex‑lay operations.
• Ability to assist supervisors, compile reports and act as a focal point for client requirements.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
