PCB Design Engineer – Power Electronics (Remote, $15/hr)

About the role

We are seeking a PCB Design Engineer with deep expertise in power electronics to create and evaluate high‑performance circuit boards on a short‑term remote contract.

Key responsibilities

• Design power electronic circuits such as DC‑DC converters, LDOs, AC‑DC/DC‑DC supplies and automotive systems.
• Develop schematics and PCB layouts using KiCad, Altium or similar tools.
• Select components based on datasheets and design requirements.
• Analyze designs for efficiency, ripple, thermal performance and reliability.
• Apply PCB design best practices including grounding, routing, EMI control and manufacturability.
• Generate manufacturing outputs: BOM, Gerber files and pick‑and‑place data.
• Validate designs through simulations, calculations and DRC checks.
• Define and implement PCB verification and evaluation frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve design and evaluation processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in power electronics or PCB design.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong foundation in power electronics, especially DC‑DC converters and LDOs.
• Proven experience in schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Knowledge of power components such as switching regulators, inductors and capacitors.
• Familiarity with PCB design tools like KiCad or Altium.
