Principal Strategic Cyber Security Consultant

About the role

As a Principal Strategic Cyber Security Consultant you will lead and support client projects that assess, test, or build security programs. You will work with small teams (2‑5 members) serving organisations ranging from start‑ups to Fortune 100 companies, providing guidance on best practices and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute security assessments, testing, and program design for diverse clients.
• Deliver cyber‑outcomes, identify mission‑critical risks and devise mitigation solutions.
• Provide expert advice on security architecture, incident response, IAM, vulnerability management and risk management.
• Collaborate with client executives and technical staff, communicating findings clearly.
• Travel up to 30 % of the time to client sites as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber‑security or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years experience assessing and developing cyber‑security solutions across multiple domains.
• At least 5 years delivering cyber outcomes, identifying risks and creating solutions.
• 3 years working with security frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST 800‑53.
• 3 years designing and operating security program functions (cyber defence, incident response, architecture, IAM, vulnerability management, risk management).
• Ability to travel up to 30 % of the time.

Required skills

• ISO 27001 and NIST 800‑53 framework knowledge.
• Cyber defence operations and incident response.
• Security architecture and identity & access management (IAM).
• Vulnerability management and security risk management.
• Cloud security frameworks and cloud governance.
• Penetration testing, security event analysis and computer forensics.
• Network and endpoint architecture, SecOps practices.
• Understanding of infrastructure, OS and application vulnerabilities, and the cyber‑threat landscape.
