Product Development Project Manager – Consumer Products

About the role

Adaptive Teams is seeking a product‑focused Project Manager to drive the development of consumer products for its e‑commerce business. You will own costing, pricing, timelines and act as the bridge between the China‑based product team and Sales, ensuring every product moves smoothly from concept to launch.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the product cost calculator covering materials, manufacturing, packaging, freight and landed costs.
• Build pricing models to support margin targets and inform sales decisions.
• Create and manage Gantt‑style timelines for multiple product projects.
• Coordinate daily with the China team on samples, approvals, revisions and production milestones.
• Keep Sales informed of product status, launch dates, costs and any changes.
• Identify delays, cost changes and risks early, proposing corrective actions.
• Organise project documentation, trackers and status reports, and run regular stakeholder check‑ins.

Required profile

• Proven project‑management experience in consumer product development, preferably for physical goods sold through retail or e‑commerce.
• Strong understanding of product costing, pricing and margin management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to keep busy teams aligned.
• Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple products at different stages.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets for building and maintaining cost models.
• Experience creating Gantt charts and project plans using tools such as Smartsheet, Monday, Asana or MS Project.
• Experience working with overseas suppliers or manufacturing teams, especially in China (strong plus).
