Project Financial Controller

About the role

Our client, a leading international sports marketing firm, is seeking a Project Financial Controller to support high‑profile projects linked to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027. You will partner with project leadership to ensure robust financial control, accurate budgeting, profitability analysis, and compliance with Brazilian legal and tax requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and control client budgets, produce detailed variance analysis and profitability reports.
• Monitor financial performance of individual project elements and provide scenario analysis for senior leadership.
• Support Project Managers and Directors with commercial finance matters, contract interpretation, invoicing and cash collection.
• Prepare weekly cash‑flow forecasts, enforce cash controls and manage working capital.
• Ensure compliance with group financial policies and Brazilian tax regulations, coordinating with local advisors.
• Liaise with international shared service centres, support cost coding, supplier onboarding and payroll execution.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Fluent in English and Portuguese, both written and spoken.
• Proven experience in project accounting or project‑led environments.
• Strong commercial acumen and solid knowledge of Brazilian tax and legal frameworks.
• Experience working in multi‑currency environments.
