About the role

The Quality & Lean Regional Leader for the GSI Latin America region will champion a "Quality First" culture and drive operational excellence across a complex portfolio of electrical and substation projects. The role focuses on reducing the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) by embedding proactive risk mitigation, lessons learned, and rigorous non‑conformity management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead preventive quality reviews during the proposal phase, using lessons learned to identify and mitigate early project risks.
  • Conduct quality risk assessments on priority projects and ensure mitigation actions are documented, tracked, and closed.
  • Monitor COPQ trends, pinpoint key failure drivers, and implement corrective actions to reduce financial impact.
  • Act as the regional quality gatekeeper, enforcing the SQDC hierarchy and maintaining quality standards.
  • Own the end‑to‑end Non‑Conformity (NCR) process, ensuring timely identification, containment, resolution, and closure.
  • Lead root‑cause investigations and implement permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence of critical failures.
  • Drive Lean and continuous‑improvement initiatives through KPI management, process mapping, waste reduction, standardisation, and Kaizen projects.
  • Improve stakeholder performance by raising NPS and customer satisfaction while aligning regional execution with global quality and lean standards.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering.
  • Proven experience in Lean and Quality Management (approximately 20% Lean, 80% Quality focus).
  • Experience leading and conducting internal and external audits.
  • Demonstrated people‑leadership managing a team of about six direct reports and coordinating third‑party resources across the LAM region.
  • Experience in the electrical industry and/or substation projects is highly desirable.
  • Advanced English proficiency and proficiency in Portuguese or Spanish.
