Regional Operations Engineer – Offshore Drilling

About the role

The Regional Operations Engineer supports the overall operation of Borr Drilling rigs, ensuring compliance with core processes, performance standards, and maintenance requirements. Working closely with the Operations Director and Rig Manager, the role spans contract management, KPI tracking, and coordination with offshore teams and vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Assist managers and offshore crews in complying with operation manuals, QHSE policies, and maintenance systems.
• Ensure rigs operate within drilling contracts and approved budgets.
• Track client reimbursable charges and manage AFE trackers as directed.
• Monitor rig KPIs, equipment downtime, and overdue preventive maintenance.
• Facilitate communication between rig teams, support functions, and external vendors.
• Support warm stacking, reactivation planning, and new‑build contract preparations.
• Participate in regional tender processes and cost estimation for new contracts.
• Maintain and enforce QHSE systems, offshore procedures, and operational manuals.
• Conduct regular offshore visits and provide temporary cover for Rig Managers when needed.

Required profile

• Well Control certification demonstrating drilling knowledge.
• Bachelor’s degree, technical college qualification, or Rig Engineer Program graduate (preferred).
• Previous offshore drilling experience.
• Fluent English (verbal and written) and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Willingness to work regionally or globally as required.
