Regulatory Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Regulatory Specialist to join our Regulatory team in Rio de Janeiro. The role provides legal support for strategic energy projects and ensures compliance with the complex regulatory framework governing electricity and natural gas in Brazil.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal support for strategic projects and cross‑border transactions.
• Monitor compliance with electricity and natural gas regulations and sectoral charges.
• Analyze reports and communications from ONS, CCEE, ANEEL, MME, ANP and other regulatory bodies.
• Support interactions with regulatory institutions, governmental entities, and sector associations.
• Track public hearings, consultations and administrative proceedings, preparing analyses and contributions.
• Maintain regulatory documentation, records and internal tracking files.
• Participate in contract negotiations, corporate governance and legal risk‑management activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law.
• 3–5 years of experience in corporate law, contracts, or regulatory matters.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Strong analytical, drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multicultural, international environment.
• High integrity, accountability and business orientation.
• Previous experience in the energy sector, infrastructure, arbitration or law firms is a plus.
• Willingness to travel when required.
