Robotics Technician – Remote (São Paulo)

About the role

Rex.zone is seeking a mid‑level Robotics Technician to join a remote‑first team supporting industrial robotics and automation operations. You will be responsible for diagnosing downtime, standardising maintenance, and collaborating with engineering to boost system reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Own troubleshooting for robot cells, handling alarms, motion faults, communication errors and I/O issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication schedules and component replacements.
• Commission and validate new or modified automation equipment, including end‑of‑arm tooling and fixtures.
• Support PLC‑controlled systems by verifying I/O mapping, network connectivity and safety interlocks.
• Maintain safety compliance for e‑stops, light curtains, safety relays and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Calibrate sensors and vision components, validating part detection and alignment.
• Create service documentation such as root‑cause analyses, corrective actions and maintenance checklists.
• Coordinate with engineering and vendors on escalations, parts and corrective engineering changes.
• Track downtime metrics and propose reliability improvements.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial robotics or automated production systems.
• Strong electrical/mechanical troubleshooting skills (motors, drives, sensors, pneumatics).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Practical knowledge of PLC‑controlled systems and industrial networking concepts.
• Comfort with structured workflows: tickets, SOPs, change logs and maintenance records.
• Excellent root‑cause analysis and clear communication skills.
• Self‑motivated and able to work effectively in a remote‑first, asynchronous environment.
