Safety Communications Associate – Brazil

About the role

Uber is looking for a Safety Communications Associate to lead its safety narrative across Brazil. Based in São Paulo, you will work closely with internal teams and external media to showcase Uber’s technology‑driven safety initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a consistent safety story for Uber, highlighting innovation to local media and third‑party partners.
• Respond to media inquiries and manage crisis communications related to safety issues.
• Collaborate with Social Media, Immediate Response, Safety Ops, Policy, Public Safety and Legal teams to gather information for external messaging.
• Lead monitoring, reporting and coordination with PR agencies.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in external communications, journalism, agency or in‑house roles, preferably with safety, government or policy focus.
• Proven media relations experience and strong oral and written communication skills.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and able to work flexible hours, including weekends.

• Proficiency with social‑media platforms.
• Ability to leverage AI‑based tools for content creation and monitoring.
