Safety Communications Associate

About the role

Uber is looking for a Safety Communications Associate to lead its safety narrative across Brazil. Based in Sao Paulo, you will work closely with the LATAM Safety Communications Director and cross‑functional teams to shape how Uber’s safety innovations are presented to media, partners and the public.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a compelling safety story that highlights Uber’s technology and innovation.
• Engage with local media, third‑party partners and influencers to promote Uber’s safety commitments.
• Respond to media inquiries and manage crisis communications related to safety issues.
• Collaborate with Social Media, Immediate Response, Safety Ops, Policy, Public Safety and Legal teams to gather accurate information for external communications.
• Lead monitoring, reporting and coordination efforts with external PR agencies.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in external communications, journalism, agency or in‑house roles.
• Demonstrated experience handling complex safety, government or policy communications.
• Strong media relations and excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Portuguese.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and able to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AI tools for content creation and analysis.
