Safety Engineer

About the role

The Safety Engineer will lead the implementation of proactive safety measures across a manufacturing plant, acting as the chief technical authority on environmental health and safety (EHS). The role focuses on embedding risk‑mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with statutory and corporate safety requirements, and fostering a zero‑accident culture.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily safety engineering activities and conduct plant safety inspections.
• Coordinate with production, procurement, quality, finance, and HR to align safety objectives.
• Prepare EHS reports, incident documentation, and legal compliance records.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives, ergonomic updates, and productivity projects to reduce hazards.
• Ensure adherence to corporate safety policies, internal standards, and statutory labour regulations.
• Participate in regulatory safety audits, executive reviews, and plant planning.
• Conduct workplace risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).
• Lead accident and near‑miss investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Design and deliver safety training programs, emergency drills, and onboarding sessions for plant personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical qualification.
• Professional registration card from the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
• 5–8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive or motorcycle.
• Conversational level of English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems.
