Senior Controller – Consumer Industry

About the role

Howard Financial provides full‑service back‑office solutions for high‑growth companies. We are seeking a hands‑on Senior Controller to lead our consumer‑industry accounting portfolio and the team that supports it. The position blends technical accounting expertise, people leadership, and strategic partnership.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full accounting cycle and drive month‑end/quarter‑end close processes.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Design and implement AI‑driven automation initiatives to streamline workflows.
• Act as the primary accounting contact for consumer‑industry clients, building relationships and presenting financial results.
• Oversee accounting operations across the consumer portfolio, ensuring consistency and accuracy.

Required profile

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands‑on Controller or senior accounting leadership.
• Deep knowledge of the consumer industry (CPG, retail, or related).
• Proven track record implementing accounting automations or AI‑based process improvements.
• Strong client‑facing and communication abilities.
• CPA preferred; ERP proficiency required.
