Senior Data Scientist – AI/ML Leader

About the role

3M is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead advanced AI/ML initiatives within its Global Analytics & Insights organization. You will work alongside innovative colleagues worldwide, turning cutting‑edge AI capabilities into real‑world business value.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and deploy sophisticated AI/ML solutions, including predictive models, generative AI, NLP pipelines, computer‑vision systems, and AI agents.
• Lead the full innovation lifecycle from opportunity identification through deployment and performance monitoring.
• Define model design standards, ensure scalability, and enforce validation, testing, and governance frameworks.
• Drive adoption of large language models, generative AI frameworks, and AI agent architectures to solve complex problems.
• Partner with data engineering teams to shape data architecture, pipeline standards, and quality frameworks.
• Implement MLOps best practices, including CI/CD for ML, model monitoring, retraining strategies, and automated deployment.

• Proven experience leading AI/ML projects at scale in a global, innovation‑driven environment.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical solutions into strategic value.
• Excellent communication and mentorship skills to guide peers and influence stakeholders.
