Senior Indirect Tax Analyst

About the role

The Senior Indirect Tax Analyst will lead the calculation, control, and compliance of indirect tax obligations while managing a team of junior and mid‑level tax professionals. This position also drives strategic tax projects focused on process improvement and regulatory alignment.

Key responsibilities

• Support tax planning initiatives and respond to ad‑hoc requests.
• Oversee internal tax processes to ensure compliance with current regulations.
• Prepare management reports for strategic decision‑making.
• Provide technical support for internal and external audits.
• Monitor legislative changes and adjust strategies to mitigate risk.
• Document workflows, procedures, checklists, and policies.
• Lead tax‑related projects such as recovery initiatives, compliance automation, and system implementations.
• Delegate tasks strategically and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
• Supervise calculation and filing of indirect taxes (PIS, Cofins, ICMS, ICMS‑ST, IPI, ISSQN).
• Ensure accurate preparation and submission of ancillary obligations (SPED Fiscal, EFD Contribuições, GIA, GIA‑ST, DCTF, etc.).
• Review tax accounting reconciliations and foster team development.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of transactional tax experience.
• Experience with complex tax projects; Big 4 background is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Law or related field.
• Post‑graduate degree or MBA in Tax Management, Finance or related area is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Intermediate English proficiency.
