Senior Java Engineer – Payments Platform

About the role

Adyen is looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join its Payments platform team in São José dos Campos. You will work on a high‑throughput system that processes tens of millions of payments daily for global brands such as Meta, Uber, and Microsoft.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and monitor new features for the payments platform.
• Identify and improve components to increase robustness and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across time zones, review code, and incorporate feedback.
• Communicate with stakeholders and merchants, and monitor the impact of released features.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in Java and experience with complex, high‑performance platforms.
• Ability to coach and mentor junior developers.
• Detail‑oriented, ownership‑driven, flexible, and a strong team player.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
