Senior Virtual Design Engineer – Product Development (NX)

About the role

General Motors is seeking a Senior Virtual Design Engineer to join its product development team in São Caetano do Sul. You will work in a hybrid model, collaborating on‑site three days a week to create advanced virtual models and support vehicle integration.

Key responsibilities

• Create mathematical data models and virtual layouts for complex components, systems, and subsystems.
• Apply design standards, best practices, and global design information (e.g., clearance analysis, vehicle assembly structure).
• Develop, refine, and finalize criteria and typical sections, ensuring manufacturability and design‑for‑assembly.
• Perform NX analysis, interpret results, and support CAE studies to improve designs.
• Lead or participate in virtual design reviews and document material, mass, and part specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and design leaders to integrate components into vehicle systems.
• Communicate project status, timing, and technical issues proactively.

Required profile

• Completed engineering degree.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• Strong experience with NX software, especially surface, stamped (BIW), and injection‑molded part modeling.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• NX (Siemens PLM) modeling and analysis.
• Computer‑Aided Engineering (CAE) support.
