Shift Manager

About the role

The Sorting Center Shift Manager leads day‑to‑day operations and staff for a designated shift at an Amazon sorting facility. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient execution of inbound receiving, sorting, and outbound loading while fostering continuous improvement and employee engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all sortation activities during the shift, aligning with the center’s operational strategy.
• Manage workforce staffing, task assignments, and performance monitoring for supervisors, equipment operators, and support staff.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols, including PPE use and material handling equipment operation.
• Monitor KPIs such as throughput, quality, and safety incidents; identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with site managers, capacity planners, and cross‑functional teams to resolve operational challenges.
• Lead integration of new technologies and automation solutions within the shift.
• Provide coaching, training, and development to shift personnel.
• Escalate critical issues and maintain accurate shift performance documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Fluent in Portuguese (read, write, speak).
• Proven experience managing teams.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).

• Material handling equipment operation.
• Knowledge of sortation processes and safety protocols.
