Software Engineer – Athelas Home

About the role

This position is for a Software Engineer working on the Athelas Home platform, an innovative medical‑device solution that combines software, hardware and machine‑learning capabilities. Based in Brazil, you will help build reliable, scalable systems that enable advanced diagnostics and improve healthcare accessibility worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance backend and frontend services for a connected medical‑device platform.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable software systems with a focus on reliability, performance and maintainability.
• Translate product requirements into effective technical solutions while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Implement cybersecurity best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Partner with engineering, operations, quality and regulatory teams to ensure compliance and security.
• Work with Python, Flask, React, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes and Docker to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues, improving system stability and user experience.
• Establish best practices for development, testing, deployment, monitoring and code quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience as a software engineer with strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience designing and managing data pipelines and working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Strong knowledge of containerization and cloud technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience building, scaling and maintaining production‑grade software environments.
• Understanding of system monitoring, alerting, metrics tracking and software reliability practices.
