Software Engineer – Automotive Power Electronics

About the role

Valeo is seeking a Software Engineer to act as the technical liaison with customers for power‑electronics software development, implementation, and integration. You will work closely with program management, global product, and R&D engineering teams while providing on‑site support at customer locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead communication between customers and internal teams, ensuring clear exchange of requirements and status.
• Define software deliverables for each release, including usage documentation.
• Provide on‑site support for component integration, vehicle testing, flashing, troubleshooting, and debugging during bench and production tests.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving for field issues throughout program launch.
• Collaborate with customer software teams on architecture, strategy, integration, and implementation.
• Review engineering documents with customers and address technical queries.

Required profile

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
• Previous experience as a Software Engineer in the automotive sector.
• Hands‑on experience with software flashing, bootloader usage, and hardware testing tools.
• Good knowledge of microcontrollers and automotive diagnostics (UDS, OBD, XCP).
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, CAN‑FD, and LIN.
