Software Engineer – Payments Platform (São Paulo)

About the role

Stripe is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join its Global Payments Experiences team in São Paulo. You will help design, build, and maintain new payment methods for merchants across LATAM and North America, ensuring a seamless experience for both end‑users and developers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and reason about integration experiences with a focus on simplicity and developer experience.
• Build backend services and integrations that power Stripe’s payments product.
• Collaborate with external partners to define technical solutions.
• Engage directly with users to translate business needs into concrete implementations.
• Work cross‑functionally with product, partnerships, engineering platforms, and other teams.
• Contribute to shared software platforms used across Stripe payments.

Required profile

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Experience working across multiple geographies.
• Proven ability to build extensible, scalable software solutions.
• Empathy for users and a focus on delivering exceptional experiences.
