Staff AI Engineer

About the role

Telus Digital is looking for a Staff AI Engineer to design and deliver production‑ready AI solutions that power autonomous, intelligent digital products. The role is fully remote for candidates located in Brazil, with optional office attendance in São Paulo or Porto Alegre.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end architecture of AI‑powered systems, including generative AI, agentic workflows and multi‑agent ecosystems.
• Design and standardise multi‑agent coordination, context/memory strategies and human‑in‑the‑loop interactions.
• Lead model selection and architecture trade‑offs, defining evaluation frameworks, governance and safety guardrails.
• Design data architectures for AI, covering embedding strategies, vector databases and large‑scale unstructured data pipelines.
• Ensure production readiness through CI/CD, containerised deployment, cloud integration, observability and reliability engineering.
• Act as technical leader: mentor engineers, advise on architecture and communicate trade‑offs to technical and executive stakeholders.
• Drive innovation by evaluating emerging models, frameworks and architectural paradigms and integrating them into the AI ecosystem.

Required profile
