Subsea Engineer

About the role

BW Energy is looking for a Subsea Engineer in Rio de Janeiro. The engineer ensures the integrity, performance and operational readiness of Subsea Production Systems (SPS) across the project lifecycle, supports the planning and execution of subsea operations and interventions, coordinates technical activities with internal and external stakeholders, and manages subsea equipment, tooling and documentation. The role also ensures compliance with company procedures, industry standards, regulatory requirements and HSE expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the Intervention and Construction schedule and/or Project Schedule is supported by on-time delivery from subsea contractors.
• Analyse subsea mechanical, hydraulic and intervention equipment designs for weaknesses, learn from existing hardware and develop workarounds.
• Plan, review and assess equipment in storage, create scopes of work for repair and refurbishment, and assess existing documentation (deviations, risk assessments) to identify errors and gaps.
• Provide and maintain tooling availability for each subsea intervention in the safest and most cost-effective way.
• Assess and contribute to SGIP, SGSS and SGSO documentation requirements, monitor vendor technical and operational performance and HSE compliance, and participate in risk assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Subsea engineering experience with in-depth knowledge and expertise.
• Advanced English.
