Systems Engineer II – Remote (12‑month contract)

About the role

We are looking for a Systems Engineer II to join our team on a 12‑month remote engagement. You will design, implement, and maintain core infrastructure while driving automation and security improvements across Windows and Linux environments.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, design, and maintain enterprise systems and infrastructure.
• Automate installations, configuration, and hardening using PowerShell and Terraform.
• Manage server and application environments, including upgrades and migrations.
• Monitor performance, availability, and security of IT systems.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve incidents and implement changes.
• Remediate vulnerabilities and support compliance initiatives.
• Serve as an escalation point and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience managing and developing core infrastructure.
• Strong background with VMware vSphere, Horizon, Windows and Linux servers, and server hardware.
• Extensive PowerShell experience for automation, registry edits, and Windows hardening.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud services and SSO/MFA tools (Okta, Microsoft Authenticator, Duo).
• Proficiency in Active Directory, Azure AD, Intune, and Terraform.
• Solid IT operations and engineering skills with good communication and project execution abilities.
