Team Security Coordinator

About the role

The Team Security Coordinator will lead the establishment, coordination and management of the Team/Referee Security Liaison Officer (TSLO/RSLO) programme for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 in Brazil. Reporting to the Manager, Non‑Competition Sites, the role ensures secure movement, team protection and liaison arrangements are consistently delivered across all host cities and clusters.

Key responsibilities

  • Establish, integrate and manage the full TSLO/RSLO programme across all host cities and clusters.
  • Coordinate and supervise all TSLOs/RSLOs, ensuring consistent operational standards and structured reporting.
  • Serve as the central coordination point for team‑related security matters within the Safety & Security function.
  • Maintain strong relationships with government agencies, policing partners and relevant domestic institutions.
  • Oversee secure movement protocols, including “bubble‑to‑bubble” operations and police escort arrangements.
  • Coordinate close protection and monitored transport services for teams, referees and designated FIFA officials.
  • Monitor threat and risk developments, coordinate mitigation measures and ensure timely escalation of incidents.
  • Facilitate team security briefings, itinerary coordination and liaison between TSLOs, TLOs, TSOs and venue‑based safety managers.
  • Gather, manage and maintain required programme documentation in compliance with host‑country regulations and FIFA requirements.

Required profile

  • Proven experience in security coordination for large‑scale events or sports tournaments.
  • Strong knowledge of public security services, police escort procedures and “bubble” security concepts.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with government and policing authorities.
  • Excellent organizational and reporting skills, with a focus on risk mitigation.
  • Fluency in English; Portuguese language skills are an advantage.
