UI Artist

About the role

Epic Games is hiring a UI Artist in Porto Alegre. The artist works with UX designers to turn wireframes into high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, design systems and style guides, then helps UI Technical Designers and UI Engineers turn those designs into playable UI. The role sits within the UX/UI department and aims for AAA-quality, consistent interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Work with UX Design, Tech UI Design and Engineering to create high-quality UI experiences
• Help build design systems, game menus, HUD elements, iconography, UI materials and shaders, UI animation and motion design
• Create new material effects, implement basic logic in Blueprints and/or create 2D effects
• Implement final art in Unreal Editor using UMG, animations and materials
• Contribute to shipping features on time and keep quality consistent across the project
• Work autonomously on complex features and systems

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience creating UI from concept to completion
• Strong visual design skills and a strong portfolio showing your process
• Ability to see features through to completion and adapt quickly to changing information
• Passion for making and playing games, with a strong sense of player empathy
• Proactive, owns outcomes and adapts well to change

Required skills

• Figma, Adobe Suite or comparable software
• UI art implementation in Unreal Engine (UMG) or an equivalent game engine
• Building UI materials and shaders, or equivalent 3D packages and FX tools
• Motion design and UI animation, preferably for games or interaction design
