Virtual Design Engineer – Product Development (NX)

About the role

Join General Motors as a Virtual Design Engineer focused on product development using NX. You will work on creating virtual models, performing analyses, and supporting the integration of components and subsystems into vehicle platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Create mathematical data models and virtual layouts of components, systems, and subsystems.
• Apply design operations such as standard modeling, clearance analysis, vehicle assembly structure, and global data security.
• Develop, refine, and finalize design criteria and typical sections while ensuring manufacturability and design‑for‑assembly principles.
• Perform NX analysis on subsystems, interpret results, and support CAE studies to improve designs.
• Lead or participate in design and virtual reviews, documenting material, mass, and part specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to integrate component designs into larger systems.
• Communicate project status, timing, and technical issues with Design Manager and Technical Lead.
• Maintain high‑quality, on‑time releases of virtual models and proactively seek learning opportunities.

Required profile

• Completed engineering degree.
• Experience with NX or CATIA software.
• Intermediate level of English.

Required skills

• NX (or CATIA) modeling.
• Modeling of A/B class surfaces, stamped (BIW) and/or injected parts.
• NX analysis and interpretation.
