Finance Officer – Loan Client Services

About the role

The World Bank Group’s Controllers – Loan Client Services unit is looking for a Finance Officer to join its team in Brasília, Brazil. The role supports the preparation and implementation of World Bank‑funded projects, acting as the primary point of contact for assigned country portfolios. The position is part of the Controllers Vice Presidency, which oversees financial reporting, internal controls and the client service function for the World Bank Group’s corporate expenses.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the country focal point for the assigned portfolio, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Review and clear project preparation packages for new World Bank‑funded projects.
• Support disbursement‑related activities throughout project implementation.
• Manage client relationships and provide front‑end client services.
• Assist with regional coordination, country focal point assistance, and project‑level fiduciary and portfolio management.

Required profile

• Highly motivated Finance Officer willing to work in Brasília.
• Strong interest in public‑sector finance and development projects.
• Ability to handle disbursement processes and client service tasks.
• Must be able to work collaboratively across regional and global teams.
